When everything is gone, we'll still be begging for more.

I've learnt that nothing lasts forever. When you're young you think that everything is perfect and dreams really so become reality, just like santa can fit through your tiny chimney.  When we're young we live in our own little bubble but then we grow up, we learn that life isn't as peachy as we first thought it was. We have to work hard and give respect to earn it.

You can still be naive though and think that things are never going to end. But they do. You grow up.

What's wrong with people today though?  They either try to grow up too fast or label themself with some kind of image that isn't them, just to fit in.  I see 14 year olds that slap on the make up, wear see through tops and cover themsleves in head to toe Jack Wills or such brands.  They think that appearance is everything and wish to appear fashionable. But the truth of the matter is they're just 14 they should they really care if they go out without make up on?!  They want to stand out as indiciduals but all end up looking like manufactured dolls.

Another major problem is that people are trying to be something they're not. Whether it's the way they dress, the music they listen to, or what they say. I used to resent these people as i knew that they were just pretending to be something they weren't just to get 'in' with people- and it worked.  But now i just feel sorry for them.  They have to pretend and mould themself into a different person just to fit in with who they want to, well you who has to do this i feel for you.  If you can't feel good enough and fit in by just being yourself than i feel sorry for you.

I look at one particular person and laugh though, they want to be percieved as 'cool' and 'original' yet they're forcing the image upon themself, it's not truly them.  They think that they are 'cool' and 'unique' yet they aren't and they just make themselves look stupid. I can see through them and i know in time others will too.

I understand that much of the above may make no sense. So thankfully. Ramble over. X

Given the chance i want to be somebody.

'Good fortune shies away from gloom.
  Keep your spirits up.
Good things will come to you and you will come to good things.'

Everybody makes wishes,
Everybody has dreams,
Everybody wishes to achieve their dreams,
Stop wishing and begin chasing,
Paint yourself the path.

Been thinking alot about what i want to do in the next few years. University is a definate, but due to the raised fees i was umming and arring as to what to study. My heart said costume design. My head said teaching.
My dream is to be a costume desginer or to work within costume for performance. I've spoken to my parents and friends and they have been a great help, it gives someone great confidence to know that people believe in you, believe you can do it.
I only have one life, one chance to do what i love.
I should make the most of it.
Chase after my dreams, rather than letting them run miles away from capability.
I'm going to take a leap of fate and hope it pays off.And that my dreamcatcher works and brings me pots of luck!

Now where's that wish tree...?

Sunday 12 June 2011

There's always sunshine after a rainstorm.

The best kind of rain, of course, is a cozy rain.
This is the kind the anonymous medieval poet makes me remember,
the rain that falls on a day when you'd just as soon stay in bed a little longer,
write letters or read a good book by the fire,
take early tea with hot scones and jam and look
out the streaked window with complacency.

Old memories captured in photographs.
Hidden meanings behind your smiles.
Deeper meaning to words.
A hidden depth.
Not all things are spoken.

So a day full of textiles revision isn't my favourite way to go. I prefer the actual creative side of textiles. The side where you can create something beautiful from next to nothing at all. However i have learnt lots while revising, i now know what microencapsulation is. I pray to God that this comes up on the exam as there is nothing more frustrating than what you revise not coming up.

Listening to the rain pattering on my window whilst playing my favourite music tracks is actually quite relaxing and makes me smile!  Not going to lie though wish the sun would come out!

Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing,
wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating;
there is really no such thing as bad weather,
only different kinds of good weather.

Almost finished reading persuasion, thinking i may start on Sense and Sensibility next, maybe it'll knock some sense into me..  I love Austens classics, so excuse me while i go and dive into a world of curtseys, corsets and romance..

I'm free fallin'

'All the vampires walkin through the valley
Move west down ventura boulevard
And all the bad boys are standing in the shadows
All the good girls are home with broken hearts'

It's funny isn't it, how different situations make you feel different. Being wiht people your own age or yonger makes you fel older, whereas being with oler people you feel like you fit in, until they know your age then you feel young, like you're the child and they're the teacher.  I know that people say you shouldn't grow up to fast, that you should enjoy being young, but the truth is time flies.  You think you have time to do everything you wish to ahieve, you believe that time will slow down for you and allow you to do everything that matter to you. But the fact is it doesn't.  Time eats away at itself, uses itself up so even though you started with what felt like forever, you actually end up with very little time at all.

Everyone has dreams, things that seem unlikely to happen, but we wish them to. The thing is we only have one life, instead of dreaming, why not get on that rollercoaster and chase our dreams, it's not like we'll have a second chance too.  Eventually we'll die and never get to do what we enjoy, we don't know what happens after death, but that unknowingness should make us chase what we want in this life.
We forget that some people have no chance to live their life. Their time is cut shorter than it should be. They don't have a chance to chase their original dreams, they the ae new dreams.  Their new dreams are what we purely expect and think will happen in life. Yet they mean so much to these people. They dream of getting a job, owning a house, getting married, having children, family holidays, seeing their children grow up, then growing old with their lover. It's sad to think that we take these things for granted and we just expect them when for some people they are merely a distant dream.

Next month i am running the race for life, this supports cancer research, it raises money which then goes towards into research towards cancer treatments, ways of preventing it, ways of killing it, also it helps people already with cancer. I'm running it in memory of my grandad, he died last year from bowel cnacer, he was one of the lucky ones in a way though, he had llived, he got married, had children and grew old. However it is never nice, especially to see a life wither away in front of you.  I don't think you truly appreciate everything until you see and experience something like that. My cousins fiance passed away a few years ago, due to lukemia, he unlike my grandad hadn't lived his life and it was cut short.  It was cut short just as he was beginning to live, he didn't even have time to get married. My cousin is now happily married, i know though that she will always love Andrew and her love for someone lese can do nothing to change that.

Cnacer affects a high percentage of people across the world, you never know who could have it, it could possibly be one of your family, so please sponsor me for the race for life, help raise money for caner, you're investing in yours and your loved ones futures!

Cruel to be kind.

"Don't let anyone ever tell you that you dont belong, that you can't achieve, that you will stumble and fail, don't let anyone make you feel like you're insignificant. If you put your mind to it you can achieve, you can achieve your dreams and beyond. Everyone belongs somewhere and with someone, even if you stumble an fall pick yourself back up and shake yourself off, make yourself significant, to yourself and those around you. But most of all live to the max, take risks and aim high."

Time to get my life organised, save my money and list making. List making, list of things i'm saving for, list of things to do, list of where i need to be, list of future ideas. It's list after list after list. As much as these lsits re drowning me at the moment i like to be organised.

Taken some time out recently, had a night out with my girls which was nice, sad though as it felt like the last time that we would all be together, almost felt like we were saying goodbye to some.  Also made numerous trips to the gym, it makes me feel so good after! even if i do sweat so much at the time!

Also took some time out and did the fashion photoshoots that i said previously i would, here are some images, they do need some improvement though! My friend kindly modelled for me as promised.

Saturday 28 May 2011

I'm looking at you through the glass.

"Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us."  Pride and Prejudice.
I love the fashion image, i found it when searching for inspirationg for photography. It's the colous that i think make this photo beautiful, the blue black and white, also the indian headress makes it unusual. I think a photo needs to stand out as being different and unique, if you achieve this then you have little else to achieve.
I'm hoping to go out with one of my friends this week, who has kindly offered to model for me, i need to practise and collect some photos for my photograohy course next year, plus i really enjoy creative things, so doing her hair, make-up, taking/editing the photos within itself will be fun.

I found an photographer that is very good. His work is unusual and mut take so many skills when it comes to editing! He takes simple everyday things and manipulates them into something unique.

I can't wait until summer, when i can take some really summery photos.

Once i have photographed my friend i shall upload some of the photos taken! Fingers crossed we get some good ones!

I fell in love at the seaside.

Doesn't everyone love the beach? But when is it at it's best?
Imagine a vast empty wasteland beneath you, stretching out as far as the eye can see, with gentle waves crumbling onto the shore.  The turquoise blue twinkles as the sun begins to cast its rays.  The waves create a sense of stillness, calming and cooling, gently washing away troubles and worries.
You love the rush if waves, the coarse sand exfoliating your feet, the feeling of weightlessness.
Most of all the feeling of serenity.
The smell of salty air tingles in your nose, the air smells so clean, fresh and open.
Shells lie peacefully untouched, wallowing in the serenity, they kay there undisturbed. Sleeping.
Small footprints are barely visible as the waves dive englufing them.
Nothing is more relaxing than hearing the gentle crumble and trickle of water, it lulls you into a serene place, where every focus is on that calming noise.

Then slowly you hear them, gradually getting louder.  A swarm of bees to honey.  The vast wasteland is no more and the gentle calming rush of the ocean now seems like a distant dream, for now there is no noise other than the constant buzzing, running over and over in your mind like a stuck record player.  The utter calm and peacefullness has been ruined in what seems like no time at all.
Hoarse cries can be heard as water is splashed and fortresses of sand crumble. Laughter is also heard amidst the constant buzz of conversation.
The previous smell of the beach has been extinguished from your nose.  You can now smell the heat.  The vingera swimming over the fish and chips, stings in your nose.
Seagulls are encircling above, ready to dive down on their prey.

Instead of the wasteland there is now a row of colourful umbrellas lining the skyline.
Rather than a sea os turquoise and sand, there's a rainbow of colour scowring the beach/
There's a different type of beauty from before.
The lack of serenity will be renewed in the morning.

Sunday 15 May 2011

Remember when I was your boat and you were my sea..

Gaaaah! Exam tomorrow, feel so unerved by all the exams looming!  My way of destressing has been to be creative though. I started of writing revision notes, eventually gave up and created this masterpiece...I could definately be the next Picasso!
Definately been giving a lot of thought to the future recently, I guess leaving school does that to you, there are so many people you are never going to see again. Even though some of them you're not even friends with, it feels strange that you're never going to meet them and they are going their own way to live a completely seperate life to yours.
Do you ever think about what other people might be doing this very moment? It's like that now, it's all a guessing game..
The good thing about coming to the end of school, is that people put their differences behind them; so they can part on friendly terms, the fact of the matter is though we should have done this sooner, it shouldn't be parting that brings us together.
All I can say is i'm going to miss these days, the days of being young, free, immature and all the rest that goes with!

Saturday 14 May 2011

I'm swimming in the smoke, of bridges i have burned.

So I felt like I needed to update! I'm slowly but steadily working my way through piles of revision for my exams and music is by far what is helping me complete it! Things always seem so much better when you can plug your ipod in and put it on shuffle, time just seems to fly by!
Recently i have been playing over and over Burning In The Skies- By Linkin Park, I love quite a few of their songs on their newest album and I think it is amazing how versatile they are. They seems to have a very unique sound and voice, so if they are on on the radio you would instantly recognise them.

Before I share my recent song find, here is a picture of a tattoo I have found, which I absolutely love. I lvoe the floatiness of it and the amazing colours in it, they just contrast so well together! Not sure where I would get it though! Also wanting one of a trele cleff, but I don't want to be covered!

Okay so I have 2 songs to post.  The first is by The Material and it is called before this ship goes down. I'm not normally as keen on female singers, but I think the fact that this is a good song and she can actually sing, makes me love this song!  The chorus is especially catchy.  The singer does remind me of Hey Monday's lead singer though!

Cassidee Pope- Leas singer of Hey Monday
The next song is by This Is Freedom and it's called Bitter.  It was only released a couple of months ago, but it deserves way more views then it has!  I think it's a reall good song, and the video is simple but nice to it too!
Been listening to Kerrang! Radio alot as well, practically all day! It's good as I listen to new songs that I bookmark and then download later!  BIG LOVE FOR KERRANG!
That's all for now,

Monday 18 April 2011

Slowly but steadily recovering from Hit The Deck Festival! It was definately worth the lack of sleep and the pain my feet are now in.
It was such a long day.  Got into the taxi at 9.45am, the driver was banterous and funny, even if he couldn't find his way and the lads ended up directing him using the map..
We collected our wristbands from Rock City, bit then had an hour to kill so wandered into Nottingham to get something to eat.  After wandering round in circles and walking past many cafes and fast food restaurants we finally found a Mcdonalds, which was what the boys really wanted.
We swapped into different venues throughout the day so we could see all the bands we wanted to.
First up were We Are Fiction, they were amazing and such a great start to the day, got us all in the mood!
Following on from there we listened to a bit of Kiss Corona, they sounded really good, however they were performin on The Basement stage, which is a lot smaller and it was hard to get in so unfortunately we left early, so from there we went to Stealth adn listened to Blitz Kidz, who again were really good and i am definately hitting them up on itunes at some point!
One of the highlights of the day was going to a Young Guns signing, we got to meet the whole band and they were all so lovely and i can now officially say i have met my favourite band. We got a few pictures and ou tickets signed, whcih put us all in a great mood!  throughout the day we caught other bands walking about and got pictures with them, including James, the lead singer of Deaf Havana.
The afternoon included another trip to get food, then we watched Deaf Havana, We Are The Ocean, The Blackout, Young Guns and Underoath. They were all amzing and very impressive live!  This is what real music is about; writing well, performing live well; and just being a genuinely nice people.
During Underoath i was stood almost next to Simon, the bassist from Young Guns, also bumped into Gustav Wood 2 more times!
Eventually got into the taxi home at 11pm, after a good 12 hours of being on my feet and listening to some of the best bands I have heard.

Was VERY impressed with Hit The Deck Festival! They couldn't have made the day any better!  I can quite happily say it was one of the best days ever.
Definately going again next year if I can!
Great music, great people, great friends, great dancing and singing; that is all i can say.

Sunday 10 April 2011

You're so naive, yet so.

So it's just a week to go until Hit The Deck Festival!  So excited, can't wait to see all the bands, but also just to have an amazing day with some friends!
The next few weeks are so busy, I have something on practically everyday.  Exams are looming, but i'm not letting that get me down!  So many good things planned with friends! And of course there is always last day and prom and parties which should be all round amazing!
This is my most played song at the moment, although the Kooks are gettting seemingly popular on my itunes playlist.  I think now that the sun is shining people are listening to more upbeat and jolly songs, that you just want to get up and have a boogie to! Good upbeat music puts you in such a good mood.

My plan for today is to chill out in the sun with some friends and then do some revision, buut the revision doesn even bother me as i can chill in the sun and do it. Hoorah!

Note to self though: Must update ipod.

So Lost in Stereo

The All Time Low gig last night was amazing, one of the best nights ever!

We waited in the line outside forever, but finally got in and Young Guns had jsut come one.  Love them even more than before i went. They trul are amazing! They played all the best songs and everyone was dancing and singing along; having a great time.

Next on were Yellowcard, now i had only ever heard one Yellowcard song before i went, but i'm definatley going to listen to more now!  They were amazing live, their sound is so clear and easy to dance along to; even without knowing the lyrics.

All Time Low were on last as it was they were headlining.  They sound just the same life, but more rock-y and their sound again is so clear!  Alex(lead singer)  sings just as well live as he sounds on the CD!  They were really good, great music as well as great general entertainment.

                                                                Alex, All Time Low

All Time Low- Therapy (one of their slower songs.)
Unfortunately we had to leave before we could meet Young guns, which i was really looking forwad too.  But I am even more excited to be seeing them now at HTD festival.

Overall the night was full of great music and i have to say Young Guns and All Time Low were looking fine!

Tuesday 1 March 2011

and i've been, waiting, for so long.

So today was a good day, everything went smoothly!  Had some interesting conversations with people! And funny as it is apparantely it's Biebers birthday today, but even that couldnt't dampen the mood of a good day!

So excited for Thursday!  Going with my bestfriend to see All Time Low ..which in itself is going to be awesome.  But guess who their support is?  YOUNG GUNS!  My favourite band.  Ever.  Can't wait to see them on Thursday shall be a good night out!  My only dilema is the amount of work i need to get done before next week, but surely that can wait until the weekend!

So here is All Time Lows's best song.  I view it as their best as it is their most rockiest song, a few of their others sway more towards pop rock. All are good though!

I shall update after the gig!

Monday 28 February 2011

You might think i'm out of place.

So can't say today was the best day, scraped my way through my German oral..then remembered i have a maths exam first thing tomorrow to revise for. I blame the weather, it think it manages to put everyone in a bad mood when it's so dull, it also makes you extremely tired! Or that could just be the late nights catching up with me..

Anyway, it's just over two months until i got to Hit the Deck festival with my friends!  Can't wait for it, actually so excited! So many good bands there, and we got our tickets for £15!  Bargain I say!  There are at least 7 of my favourite bands there!  Will be nice to make a day of it as well with friends, especially as the following month is exams!

Rummaging among some old music, i say old..but i just mean stuff i havn't listened to in a while!  Ended up on this video on youtube for some reason!  But i love the lyrics video for it they have made, makes a change from the simple videos with lrics just plonked on the screen.

It is a good song as well from James Morrison, i love how he sings with a lot of emotion and you can always tell he is into his song and connecting with it.  I also like how he plays his own instrument and writes his own songs, so many people get past off as 'music artists'  without having any real musical talent.

A man who can write meaningful lyrics is HIGHLY attractive!

On a different note, my hair dye is fading.. i'm welcoming the ginger back!  It's not even my natural colour yet it is the one that always returns.  Thinking i may let my trusty friends dye it for me!

Sunday 27 February 2011

I'm not wasting days.

Okay, so we all want them duvet days!  Tucked under the covers snug and warm!  Well recently i have decided that i'm going to try and drag myself out of bed early, get a few things done!  After numerous attempts today I finally managed it..but only to be left feeling cranky and longing for my bed.  I'm looking on the positive side though, like the fact that i managed it and actually did a few things!

Im also having a lack of motivation at the moment, in the 'sit down and get some work done' area. Everytime i look at it, i just can't bring myself to do it.  I would much have the Radio turned up on full blast, rocking out to a bit of Young Guns.

Okay so here it is.. Young Guns new music video for stitches! I love the song Stitches, not only have they produced great music but they've also written amazing lyrics, that you'll notice if you pay close attention.
I wouldn't say that it is a bad music video, but there has been better. I do like though, the fact that it is in black and white.  Black and White is such a classic look, which is dying these days! I love looking at old photos and films in black and white.  Also i have to say i do like Gustav Wood in this video! Yes he is looking hot.

Before I finish blogging for now to go and learn what seems like endless pages of German for my exam tomorrow...here is what i think is an amazing picture of Ian Somerhalder, big love for his stubble and those eyes are just haunting!
